Jane Starts Work on £3.2m Project
Really excited by the new project that I’m working on within Cumbria. £3.2m has been put behind this project and its goals are massive – engaging old, young, communities and other arts, culture and heritage organisations with a project that is aiming to transform the face of the arts and make the arts accessible for all.
I conducted my first interview this week with one of the directors of one of the three arts organisations driving the project. The answers to my questions left me extremely motivated and charged up to help drive communication of this programme’s goals. The ambitions are massive in terms of the community engagement envisaged and this best practice project will be sharing knowledge across the northwest. I am honoured to be a part of this sea-change within arts and culture.
I have two more interviews to conduct with the directors and then need to assess the views of the marketing managers, which I shall be delighted to do! In the meantime, I have already spotted an opportunity for promotion and will be working on press materials shortly.
It’s a shame that other community focused projects don’t recognise the need to use PR to communicate their goals to the community with which they are seeking to work. Luckily, however, the enlightened do and I’m truly delighted by that.
